Green Tea or Red Bean Ice Cream?!

Whenever we go out for Sushi I get really quiet for a moment when the waiter comes because my brain goes totally bonkers looking at the menu ... What kind of rolls should I get? What are those orange egg thingies on-top and and why do they freak me out?
Which ice cream should I pick ... green tea or red bean?!?
SOMEONE HELP A WHITE GIRL OUT!!!

So tonight I made my life easy and ordered both,
the green tea and the red bean ice creams :)
I don't like playing favorites ;)

Hahahaha!

T$ just sent me this Craig's List post and I can't stop laughing :)

I'll be totally honest, this was my thought process after reading:

"Baaaaaahahaha, pot brownies! I wonder if 1,500 lady bugs filled up a whole shoe box or if they arrived in a some sort of cooler? Could Mikey live off of lady bugs?! I'll ask him. Bahahahaha, I wish I were there when they ordered this priceless gem from Amazon!! Hmmmm, I wonder if this person is a dude, and if so, possibly single?! Regardless, I'm a fan :) For real though, can turtles live off lady bugs? Must google ... for this could be the beginning of a beauuuutiful friendship!"

Vermont! I Can't Wait to Meeet You :)

Psyched = Me!

A couple of friends organized a ski trip to Okemo Mountain
and I immediately (
borrowed loads of warm gear)
and hopped on the bandwagon ...

a) Because February is a dismal month and I welcome anything humanly possible to look forward to

II) Because who wouldn't want to go away with a dozen buddies!

C) I'VE NEVER EVER BEEN TO VERMONT.
Exciiitement

4) It always cracks me up that, when we pool our pennies,
it's practically cheaper to
leave NYC for the weekend
than to live in it ;)

Five) I haven't gone skiing in two years,
so I can't wait to hit the (bunny) hills

VI) This is the house they rented:

Yessssssssssssssss

My gnome and I are counting down the hours
to hit the road after work!
More Monday for sure but in the meantime,
HAPPY FRIDAY and
HAVE WONDERFUL WEEKEND :)

Confession:

I've been watching the Bachelor this season.

Is it because I like Jake?
Incorrect!

I genuinely think he's a complete cheesedick who uses the word "AMAZING" every 2.2 seconds which drives me totally bananas!
I also fear he is a walking mix between the Lion & the Scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz ... aaaand, it's pretty safe to say that a man in search of both courage
and a brain is not-so-much my type ;)

Yet I find myself addicted to this "reality" nonsense!
Why?
I'll tell you.
I am totally addicted to this show because I remain entirely baffled at how I can be sooo different from these women.
It's completely laughable!

I joke about entering just so I could cause a ruckus in the house ... how I would dress in costume to each of the ceremonies
and then pretend I was allergic to roses if picked.
I would cannon ball into the hot tub (wearing flippers & goggles)
and drink champagne at all times ...
Oh what fun it would be! ;)

Problem being, I actually believe in reality romance. Meaning, the kind that happens in REAL life, not in the la-la-land of TV.
Bust!

But it sure is fun to joke about ;)
And with the finale on the horizon,
I super hope Jake picks Tenley and not that ho-bag, Vienna.
Just saying.

YOU DO NOT FOOL ME!!

Mangoes that act as french fries
are by all means,
still mangoes!!

Impostor fruit

Why did it have to open on my street?!

The insanely fabulous invention of the Dessert Truck
used to be found around 3rd Ave & St. Marks ...
a nice 15 minute walk from my apartment :)

However now, the truck is only available for private parties,
as they've opened an actual store front ...
RIGHT HERE ON CLINTON STREET

(insert bittersweet mood here, no pun intended)

I used to justify eating Chocolate Molten Cake
because of the 30 minutes of "exercise"
I endured to walk to and from this deliciousness.
And now I have to walk past this temptation every.single.day!
Argh. Sigh. Ufff

Well,
so much for giving up sweets for lent ;)

Happy Presidents Day Wknd!

Two Nutty Years ...

Believe me when I say that working for a start-up has it's ups-and-downs. But with risk there is reward, and with every countless hour of hard work that's been put in, there has been a lot of laughter along the way. So please also believe me when I say that this group of "Nuts", has certainly fought for the right to paaaaaaartay :)

Happy Birthday Mr. Z Do Da!

This week marks my 2nd anniversary with Peanut Labs
(that's 14 in dog years)
my 2nd anniversary in NYC,
and hence therefore,
the 2nd birthday of Zippidy Do Da :)

Have no fear,
I ate enough ice cream for the both of us to celebrate ;)

SNOW MUCH FUN :)

"Rough Day"

Alyssa texted me this from the subway today
(and I nearly pissed myself laughing)

Harlem RBI

Last night was the first official tutoring session for Harlem RBI so it goes without saying that I was psyched to finally meet "M", the 8th grade student I will have the opportunity to tutor for the remainder of the school year :)

Truly, I can't say enough positive things about her! But I had to laugh at one point because, knowing I was talking to a 13 year old girl, I should have seen this coming from a mile away ...

During our "break the ice" time, I asked if she had any more questions, and the conversation went as such:

Me: Alright your turn, ask me anything!
M: You got yourself a boyfriend?
Me: No
M: Sorry
Me: Why?
M: Well because, you're old
Me: (insert no reply here)

Hahaha!
Oh to be a teen again ;)
Too funny

Gooooooodmorning!

All last week, while staying with Em & Greg,
I had the absolute pleasure to wake up to this lil' munchkin :)
All the coffee in Seattle could not make me a morning person,
but the moment I saw Deacon smile ... I was up!

Talk about instant happiness :)

Not to be totally
cliché,
but I truly can't believe how big
he's gotten!
Who could not just love this little man?!?!

I've never been shy to say how proud I am of my friends,
but to ALL of you parents out there
(and those with babes on the way)
HOORAY FOR YOU and WAY TO GO!
I'm so happy for/proud of you all
for creating and raising such little bundles of joy :)

The Northwest Flower & Garden Show

If I even tried to describe it, I wouldn't do it justice.
So here are my pix to share this ahh-mazingness!

"50 Simple Steps to Happiness"

I don't know that I've ever confessed my sincere obsession with New York magazine so allow me to do so right now. I LOVE IT!
I love the feature articles,
adore perusing the (overpriced) Real Estate section,
love the "Neighborhood News" ...
heck, I even like the ads they run.
Repeat: Just love it :)

So it goes without saying, I was overly psyched to read and
act upon the
"50 Simple Steps to Happiness" article.
Correction:
I was overly psyched to read and act upon the "50 Simple Steps to Happiness" article,
until I stumbled across #41:

“Never clean your plate at a restaurant. New Yorkers eat out more than anyone, but they can choose to eat less.”
—David Kirchhoff, CEO, Weight Watchers

I'm sorry,
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?
"Never clean your plate"?!?
Oh no no no no no no no

(a) I would lick the g-damn dish if acceptable in public
(2) Eating out in NYC is not cheap.
Would you just leave $5 on your plate?
Didn't think so.
(iii) I'm not that cool so I fully enjoy being in the "Clean Plate Club"
I'm like totally one of their best members! ;)
(D) Less food has never once made me more happy. Ever.
(5) All the above

But I did enjoy the rest of the article and have EVERY intention of hitting up the Spa Castle in Queens.
Brilliant!
