I Shouldn't Find This So Funny ... But I Do ;)

Over the weekend Alyssa came home and said,

"F%@king Mary Kate Olson ran into me with her bike!
That stupid b*tch wasn't even watching where she was going
with her John Lennon sunglasses on..."

I was cracking up
yet wondering to myself,
"How did she know it was MK and not Ashley?"

But man oh man,
I laughed even harder today
when I saw this pic published in People

Oh jeez, Mary-Kate ...
didn't Danny Tanner teach you anything?!?! ;)

HO.LY WOW! Hoooooray for Nick ...

who just sent out the BEST news ever!!
Can't wait!

We just received confirmation that I will be playing at Summerfest this year in Milwaukee, opening up the night for Gavin DeGraw!
Summerfest is the world's largest music festival, attended by some 900,000 people over 11 days and on 11 stages.

I'll be playing the Harley Davidson Roadhouse stage
(check it out below)

If you are in the Mid-west over July 4th weekend, or need an excuse to attend the worlds biggest music festival, you need look no further.

"Home Depo-mesticating"

I had a Spring brainchild the other day ...
Ceiling fans!

Yep yep yep,
that was plural ...
two of 'em
like twins ;)

So I went to the mecca of all Spring brainchildren
(aka Home Depot)
and told Alyssa that
"I found our babies!"

Spaceman for downstairs ...

aaaand Rainbow Bright for upstairs :)

I really bought two of this all white one,

but her initial reaction was pretty priceless ;)

Now onto figuring out how the hell to install these bad boyz ...
Stay tuned!

Thoughts on Random Arts & Crafts Projects ...

I love them

so that I could add to this one:

Happy Earth Day! :)

Apparently, I Have Curly Hair! Who Knew?

So, I've always known my hair
has some sort of bizarre waviness to it ...

but I've always been more of a
"rushed-ponytail, on-the-go"
type a girl

I mean, my hair and I just kinda co-exist,
I'd say we've always had a pretty complacent relationship ...
Until yesterday!

Yep, yep, yep
My friend, Mel

is a miracle worker :)

She works at Devachan,
a salon that specializes in curly hair
and offered to give me a new do for the Spring season :)
(ahem, ahem ... Dear Spring, please get here soon!!)

Check out her amazingness:

First the cut ...
Ummm, who knew Cousin It was hiding on my head?!?

Then the rinse:

And then ...
a whole lotta Taaaaa-daaaaa action :)

I basically walked home feeling like this:

Mel, you are one in a million my love :)
Thank you again and again!

If you are livin' in or just vistin' Zoo York,
I highly suggest contacting Miss Mel Mabry for your new do:

You will not be left disappointed!

I Want One! Hahahaha :)

This little laughing lemur makes me think of Mogwai Gizmo :)
The flippin adorable Ewok from the movie Gremlins?

I wanted one of those too ;)

Thoughts on Orange

Alyssa asked me the other day,
"Which came first, the fruit or the color?"

I was stumped

Here's the best answer I've found so far:

The use of the word "orange" to identify the tree and the fruit
dates back to about 1300,
but the first recorded use of the word as a color
wasn't until 1542.

In those 200+ years between,
the color was actually called Geoluhread in Old English,
which translates roughly into Modern English as Yellow-red.

I thought that was interesting :)

Never a Dull Moment ;)

I debated posting this video
but since it's Tax Day (barf!)

and everyone could likely use a laugh,
here is a little funny from one fine Sunday morning
when I clearly
still had a little "ink in the pen"
from a bachlorette party the night before ...

Nothing like frostin' cupcakes in a cab ;)

(Apologies in advance, Mom)

Admittedly, I am one of those bizarrely nostalgic people.

Although I love to live in the moment and look to the future,
I'd be lying to say that I'm not constantly thinking about the past.

Tonight I read through my blog entries from last April;
and since I have nothing noteworthy to write at the moment,
I'd like to re-share possibly my favorite Zippidy Do Da post of all...
Here it is :)

"A Real First"

Confession: I am slightly addicted to Craigslist ... I just love it!

So, tonight I decided to peruse the Pets section of the Lower East Side ... why not, right?

To be entirely honest, I had no clue what I was after ... but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd find this:

Dude, I've only ever seen these on Animal Planet!!

And now I can't sleep because I find myself reading up on this entirely peculiar little marsupial :)

And I'm totally perplexed ... why is this Sugar Glider spayed?!?

I mean, are there many other Sugar Gliders boppin' around the Lower East Side to mate with?

Are even the Sugar Gliders of Manhattan pulling more tail than me?!? (Not that that would be saying much)

So, although I've seriously contemplated adopting this furry friend ... I think I'm gonna stick with a good old goldfish as planned :)

My Latest Love Affair ...

(and hot chocolate stand)
on the East side of Central Park

Me likey LOTS :)

And since I'm learning as I go,
just thought I'd share that you can also rent Model Sailboats
(which I did like a big giant dork on Sunday)

And now it's almost Noon and
(besides eating a massive amount of McDonald's)
it's all I can think about!

Just being honest ...

Check out Ann & Arbor ...

Don't I have such good looking friends?! ;)

It feels so odd to be wearing a hat, coat, and scarf
while Ann is sportin' such beauty queen buds ...

Although this 40 degree
bunch-o-bunk weather
makes me feel aaaack,
I remain anxious and excited for Spring :)
