I invited my besties from home-home to come over for 

what was supposed to be a low key night of catching up,
pizza, beers, and basketball.

Then, after one helluva Butler VICTORY on Saturday,
all bets were off...

Lady and the "Tramp"

There was something missing in my life,
but I couldn't quite put a finger on it.
 
I was happy with my new apartment and all, 
but something just felt very off :(
 
Please don't get me wrong, I entirely agree that money can't buy you happiness. But I gotta say, it sure can buy you things to help make you very happy :)
 
CASE.IN.POINT!

One of my life long besties was in town over the weekend 
and paid forward possibly the ultimate compliment.
 
She (half seriously) said, 
"I hope you never change!"
  
{insert shaking heads and laughter here}
  
In return I said, 
"LET'S JUMP"
 
And so we all gladly did just that :)

It's the little things that do it for me :)

  

Happy Thank You More Please...

I've been anxious to see the new flick

...kinda just an awesome title in general,

which made me think about all the good things 

I haven't had time to blog about.
 

Good things, like yummy restaurants and bars 

that have definitely made me say "more please"

to Chicago, over the course of these last 6 weeks :)

I love me a great dive bar, 

so my personal vote would go to Rossi's 

But the girl in me does enjoy a great view, so for a classy twist,
I gotta confess that I really liked the rooftop bar at The Wit

FOR B.Y.O.B

You truly cannot go wrong at Caro Mio, 

the pasta literally melts in your mouth!

And Terragusto was really super yum as well

but if I were to pick my favorite place to bring a bottle of wine to for dinner, it'd definitely be Sushi Para II 

for the $18.99 all you eat special. DELISH!

Needless to say, 

I keep my kitchen very clean

by getting out of the house ;)
 

Wedding Countdown

Was so nice to meet all of Kendra's friends this wknd

to celebrate her soon-to-be no-longer singleness :)

Moonshine

Thanks to my co-worker Ian,
we went to an awesome local restaurant 

for some down home comfort food :)

We started with the homemade potato chips with warm sour cream and scallion dip along with the spinach & artichoke fondue. YES. PLEASE. THANK YOU!

I nearly drooled when the entrées came out

and truly loved my pecan crusted catfish with crawfish tails, homemade hot sauce and a hot brown butter sauce. YUMMMM!

As if that wasn't enough,
they brought jalapeño cornbread to the table 

and we feasted after on their signature skillet apple pie 

with maple ice cream. AMEN TO THAT!

Moonshine was so great, 

we even went back for lunch the next day :)

I mean if it aint broke, don't fix it right?
 

University of Texas

Have you ever been to see the UT campus?
I had not. Talk about gorgeous!

They even have a turtle pond!

But not gonna lie,
it really made me miss Mikey :(

Not so secretly my most favorite motto for these past eight years in Advertising and Market Research.  So I guess it goes without saying that it was SO nice to get out to Texas this week,
for the best of both :)
