A couple weeks ago I posted about this "little funny bird"

14 days later, 

"little" may still stand true, 

but "funny" -- not so much!!

I tell ya, 

I gotta hand it to Cinderella...

What a Saint!

I now know for a fact that I would not have been as nice or polite after 2+ weeks of being woken up by birds, let alone talking mice! (and I definitely would not have shared all my cheese,
this I know is true)

Maybe I could call on my new co-worker, Mr. Snake to ask of his advice to resolve this dilemma -- I'm not a betting girl, but something tells me this would be a proposal he might "bite" on ;)

The Good with the Bad

In our sorority in college we were never allowed to
end on a negative note when discussing new members
during the RUSH process {insert big yawn here}
so all comments had to be in the form of 
"Pro-Con-Pro"

I still laugh to myself about all the ridiculous rules we used to follow. But even now that those days are long  past, I still like to crack jokes using this little method -- for example:

I love my new job!
My co-workers are all awesome :)
All, except for one...

I adore my new job, 

but why do I have to sit so close to him?!

Spring has finally sprung :)

It's one of my most favorite weeks of the year when the time comes in May that this beautiful blossom tree in front of my parents house shares it's gorgourness with the world.

Growing up, I not-so-secretly wanted my sister's room
because her window faced it's pretty pink buds :)

Derby Awesomeness

The Kentucky Derby has somehow, somewhy become "my thing" to celebrate (let's be honest, it doesn't take much)

So two of my besties from college and I got all our Michigan buddies together to get our race-faces on at my place, and it was one for the record books!

Happy Mother's Day, Momsta!

Was a really nice day spent celebrating my mom and grams.
A lil' Dim Sum action in Chinatown followed by an evening at home hanging out, making brisket and noodles (No one has ever gone hungry at the Hall house before, that's for certain)

Thoughts on my Mom

Confession:
I get uuuber frustrated with my mom because 
well, it's pretty much a fact that all she wants in life are ...
"Grandbabies!!"
(liiiiike, I should have popped them out yesterday)


It irks me to the point that sometimes I feel like lying
and telling her that I'm a suuuuuper-raging-lesbo!


But then I cool my jets,
and realize that my mom,
after hearing such a thing,
would only begin to plan the greatest
Commitment Ceremony ever!
(and then hand me invitro/adoption paperwork immediately)


So basically 
either way, 
I'm screwed
(no pun intended ;)


The thing is, 
at the end of the day,
"Sues" just may be the most supportive human on the planet.


And I know that if I'd met her back in the day,
we totally wouldda been friends.


So I feel incredibly lucky that we are now.
And that I have her on my side, always :)

My Dad: "The Dude", The Nerd

While walking out of the restaurant for lunch today I looked down only to notice that my dad was wearing socks with sandals.

Correction:
The man was wearing mismatched socks, with sandals. 

I seriously wish there was a "Like" button for all his idiosyncrasies. Cracks me up!

MAY.be It Will Get Warm Soon?!

When my new co-workers asked me to sub on the Sandbox softball team, I jumped up so quickly to say "yesss!" you'd have thought
I had springs for an ass.

Positive: The cool kids asked me to join their league

Negative: It's still cold as all hell in Chicago. Arrrrgh

But it sure was fun to hit-up the Lincoln Park fields again
and to grab beers at Kendall's after (despite the loss)

"Tomato / Tomatoe"

 A buddy from High School performed at the Annoyance Theater last night and helped raise over $2,000 for charity! 

Kevin remains one of the funniest people I've ever come by.
 Was so fun to laugh my ass off all while supporting a great cause, and two GREAT comedians!

If you ever have the chance to see "Tomato / Tomatoe" live,
I would HIGHLY recommend doing so :)

Katie's Shower de Babe

Even at ~9 months preggers,
Gina and Kim did SUCH a beautiful job
hosting Miss "KTR"s baby shower :)
