Sweet Dreams Sweet, Evelyn Grace

Evelyn Grace Spytek passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 26th, 2014. A date after which the world here on Earth will unfortunately continue to operate without the intoxicating giggle and grace of this beautiful 21 month old baby girl.

There are no words really. So I leaned heavily on my pal Winnie the Pooh when trying to express my sympathy and sorrow to my best friends, Kristen and John during this heart breaking time of excruciating loss.

I recently read a tale about how "you actually die twice... the first time is when you physically pass and the second time, somewhere much further down the road, is your real death which takes place when the very last person to carry on your legacy, passes away too."

In this sense, I know that Evelyn has found her "Neverland" because everyone who knows and loves her has the privilege to carry Evie with us for all the rest of our days. And we will teach our children, and our children's children, to do the same! Until we can be in heaven right there with her and watch the next generation carry on her beautiful spirit, and so on and so forth :)

A reading from the book of Peter Pan
by J.M Barrie
edited/expanded by Stacey Hall

When the very first baby laughed for the very first time, its laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about. And that was the beginning of fairies.

Fairies, although quixotic in nature,
are the magnificent gems that fill our world with
FAITH, TRUST, and PIXIE DUST.

For to have faith, is to have wings.

But to all dismay, fairies do not live long.
They are just so little, that a short time
seems a great good while to them.

But there are no goodbyes in Neverland.
And the privilege of childhood carries on forever!

And we adults may visit…

As Tinkerbelle promised Peter,
“You know that place between sleep and awake?
That place where you still remember dreaming?
That is where I will always love you.
That is where I will always be.”

Until we meet again, Evelyn!
Your Aunt Stace will continue to love you for all the days to come :)
