Fruit, Personified

Not gonna lie, sometimes I blatantly make up weird shit and hope for the best when I bring it to the Creative Minds.  Yesterday, I asked the kids to pick 3-5 "characters" from a picture book of fruit and gave them googley eyes to personify the pages.

Yaritza & Kandee wrote a play together that absolutely blew my mind!

The monkey-mushroom represented the government and the dolphin-bananas represented the people. The grapes were a jury and the lemons were all bad. They lived in a Colosseum made of watermelon and celery sticks and a mockingjay-onion was the symbol of their freedom.

It was literally a cornucopia of awesomeness. Hunger Games meets Divergent. Written by two brilliantly beautiful budding authors about to graduate the 3rd grade.

Makes my heart smile :)
