We just received confirmation that I will be playing at Summerfest this year in Milwaukee, opening up the night for Gavin DeGraw!

Summerfest is the world's largest music festival, attended by some 900,000 people over 11 days and on 11 stages.

This years headliners include BOB DYLAN, BON JOVI, KEITH URBAN, COUNTING CROWS, NO DOUBT, THE ROOTS, THE FRAY and KID ROCK

I'll be playing the Harley Davidson Roadhouse stage

(aka Home Depot)

I really bought two of this all white one,

but her initial reaction was pretty priceless ;)

Apparently, I Have Curly Hair! Who Knew?

So, I've always known my hair
has some sort of bizarre waviness to it ...

but I've always been more of a
"rushed-ponytail, on-the-go"
type a girl

I mean, my hair and I just kinda co-exist,
I'd say we've always had a pretty complacent relationship ...
Until yesterday!

is a miracle worker :)

She works at Devachan,
a salon that specializes in curly hair
and offered to give me a new do for the Spring season :)

Thoughts on Orange

Alyssa asked me the other day,
"Which came first, the fruit or the color?"

Hmmmmm...
I was stumped

Here's the best answer I've found so far:

The use of the word "orange" to identify the tree and the fruit
dates back to about 1300,
but the first recorded use of the word as a color
wasn't until 1542.

In those 200+ years between,
the color was actually called Geoluhread in Old English,
which translates roughly into Modern English as Yellow-red.

I thought that was interesting :)

A Year Ago ...

Admittedly, I am one of those bizarrely nostalgic people.
Although I love to live in the moment and look to the future,
I'd be lying to say that I'm not constantly thinking about the past.

Confession: I am slightly addicted to Craigslist ... I just love it!

So, tonight I decided to peruse the Pets section of the Lower East Side ... why not, right?

To be entirely honest, I had no clue what I was after ... but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I'd find this:

And now I can't sleep because I find myself reading up on this entirely peculiar little marsupial :)

And I'm totally perplexed ... why is this Sugar Glider spayed?!?

I mean, are there many other Sugar Gliders boppin' around the Lower East Side to mate with?

Are even the Sugar Gliders of Manhattan pulling more tail than me?!? (Not that that would be saying much)

So, although I've seriously contemplated adopting this furry friend ... I think I'm gonna stick with a good old goldfish as planned :)
