Chicago Style

One thing I will ALWAYS love about city living is that everything you need in life is within walking distance.  So when a hot dog stand opened directly in front of my apartment, I was obviously ECSTATIC!

If you're ever boppin' around Oz Park, be sure to stop by and say hi to Will. Everything he grills up is fantastic. I may have tried everything on the menu. Details, details ;)

"Hubby's In the Dog House" is also for rental for private parties. Check it out!

Fuckin' Easter Bunny

I often try to empathize with my 4 & 5 year old friends -- after all, we're more alike than you'd think.  But one thing that I cannot revert my mind to remember is how there once was a very blurred line between fiction and reality. A time when I was certain that the tooth fairy existed and that the reindeer ate all of the carrots I left for them on Christmas Eve.

So I'm not gonna lie, my heart cracks a little when the following happens in class. Verbatim.

Instructor
Oops! My friends, it seems that a bunny rabbit has hopped into the "not a mammal" section... Does a bunny have fur?

Campers
YES!

Instructor
And does a bunny have live birth babies?

4 year old campers
Nooo! They lay colored eggs. I get them in my Easter basket!

5 year old campers
NO!  They don't lay eggs because they are mammals. The Easter bunny isn't even real.

4 year old campers
{Silent. Confused. Duped.
Yet ready for snack time, as always}

Introducing the new, Nick & Carolyn Moretti!

It has been said that children don't form accurate/solid memories until they are three or four years old, which means there isn't a memory that I have in life without knowing Mr. "NickyNickyNicky" :)

His "Papa" and my Grandma Stella used to be our childhood heroes. He was the first boy I knew who kissed a girl. We were in Kindergarten and they "smooched" under the slide at Lyons Elementary School playground. In middle school I helped Nick ask a girl to the Pumpkin Fest and we spent every single summer together at Valley Lo Sports Camp. In Junior High we reserved an "entire" half page for each other to sign one another's yearbooks. In High School we all cheered Nick on in hockey at the Illinois State Championships. In college we visited each other at Colorado and Michigan. Then onto post grad adventures to NYC and the Windy City at the same times. Most recently, we had the honor to celebrate Nick's two greatest accomplishments to date: opening the Chop Shop, and landing the woman of his dreams :)

So yeah, you better believe I made Max sit front row at the ceremony as I photographed every mili-second of the awesomeness!

There are no words to truly express how happy I am for the love that is shared between these two and for the millions of memories we still have in store.

CONGRATULATIONS NICK & CAROLYN!

I love you both so very much :)
